Courtney Vandersloot
Courtney Vandersloot, born in Kent, Washington in 1989 and standing at 5’ 8” plays point guard for the Chicago Sky. In third grade, Courtney wrote a paper on her desire to play for the WNBA. Completing her college career at Gonzaga University with 2,000 points and 1,000 assists, she became the only female named in the West Coast Conference three times, the WCC Women’s Tournament MVP  three times, and received the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award and the Nancy Leiberman Award. In 2011, she became the third pick in the WNBA Draft, played on the WNBA All-Star Game, and the WNBA All-Rookie Team. Courtney Vandersloot continually pushes herself in the game of basketball. Competing with a variety of players, she earned a space in the hearts of many as a strong team leader and an excellent athlete.
