Background:

Washington State ABLE Savings Plan

A Washington State ABLE Savings Plan allows people with eligible disabilities to save for their everyday needs, invest in a tax-free account and prepare for the future without losing their state or federal benefits. Washington State ABLE empowers individuals with disabilities to save for qualified expenses and invest in their future.

The Developmental Disabilities Endowment Trust Fund

The DD Endowment Trust Fund is a supplemental special needs trust program. It was established in 1999 by the Washington State Legislature and opened for enrollments in July of 2002. The DD Endowment Trust Fund allows individuals with developmental disabilities, or their families, to set aside funds for future use without affecting their eligibility for government services and benefits, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid.

I am a supervisor, grant manager and emergency management professional with experience in fire response, land conservation, hazard mitigation, and energy infrastructure. Currently I am implementing saving plans for individuals with disabilities through the public private partnership of ABLE 529A savings plan and DDETF special needs trust program, and oversee the office of ombudsmen for Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health, and Long-term Care.
