Knighted Historian to Speak at Latino Leadership Network Event Nov 1
TUMWATER–Sir Antonio Sánchez, Ph.D., will speak at the Latino Leadership Network’s Nov 1 Lunch and Learn. The event takes place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Department of Labor and Industries, 7273 Linderson Way SW in room 117.
King Juan Carlos of Spain knighted Sánchez in 2007 for his lifelong commitment to the educational, cultural, and economic progress of the Hispanic community. Sánchez holds faculty appointments in the Departments of Anthropology and Political Science and is Director of Intergovernmental and International Relations for Central Washington University. He served as Chicano Studies Instructor at the University of Washington‘s Department of American Ethnic Studies from 2008-2014. He has contributed to the publication of two books this year: Alfredo Arreguin’s World of Wonders: Critical Perspectives and Poetics without Borders.
