New Committee Chair Announced
OLYMPIA—The Interagency Committee of State Employed Women, ICSEW, is pleased to announce Amal-Noor Joury has been appointed to committee chair, effective January 18, 2019.
Ms. Joury works as a Training and Compliance Analyst at the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. Ms. Joury moved to Washington state five years ago after spending a decade working as a securities attorney in Boston, Mass. Ms. Joury has worked in state government since October 2017. She began serving as a OMWBE’s representative for ICSEW in November 2017 as the committee’s Women’s Commission Subcommittee Chair.
“I realized that my work with local community organizations had ignited a passion for contributing to the empowerment of women and less advantaged communities,” Ms. Joury said. “I left legal practice and deliberately sought out an organization that would value and encourage my personal growth and allow me to continue to foster those communities. Through the encouragement of my agency’s director, I became the ICSEW representative for OMWBE and saw first-hand how important and valuable ICSEW is to the women of our state.”
