About the Subcommittee
The original goal of this subcommittee was to support the development of the new Women’s Commission. Now that the Women’s Commission is well underway, a decision was made to re-launch this subcommittee as the Partnerships Subcommittee.
The mission of the Partnerships subcommittee is to collaborate with the business resource groups, and other organizations to advance the mission of ICSEW and to support the many intersections among state employed women. We believe diversity is our strength and that it is vital that we build a coalition to address the various forms of systemic oppression that affect the many intersections of state employed women.
This subcommittee will work to shape the relationship between ICSEW, the Women’s Commission, the business resource groups, and other organizations to leverage the power of ICSEW’s membership and have an impact on policy that directly affects women and all our intersections. Together, we hope to create a unifying voice where we advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in state government.
During the 2018 legislative session, a bill was passed to form a Women’s Commission. The goal of the Commission is to further the development of public policy to improve the well-being of women and to be a focal point in state government for the needs of women.
Our State Representatives believe that it is of the utmost importance for all citizens to achieve equal opportunity, and that women specifically face unique problems and needs. This is central to ICSEW’s mission.
