2026 Professional Development Conference

The Interagency Committee of State Employed Women Wants YOU to apply as one of their 2026 Professional Development Conference Speakers!

The 2026 theme is “Sankofa: Reclaiming Our Past to Shape Our Future”. This theme draws on the Akan symbol of a bird moving forward while looking back. It reminds us that sometimes, in order to move forward, we need to return for what we may have forgotten.

We’re looking for speakers who can share their knowledge on what state employed women can learn from the women who came before us and how can those lessons help us shape what comes next. Speakers can expect to engage a large virtual audience of Washington State employees and their partners. We welcome people of all genders, backgrounds, and employment statuses and especially encourage individuals with lived experience and a passion for empowering women to apply.

Conference Dates: Tuesdays, December 1, 8 & 15, 2026

Session Lengths: 45–90 minutes; Limited 2-hour interactive sessions will also be available in Olympia on Dec. 1

Speaker Fees: $300–$1,500, depending on session length and experience.

Accessibility: Accommodations and volunteer assistance with Zoom functionality are available.

Washington State employees are not eligible for speaker fees.

Apply by 11:59 p.m. PDT on September 7, 2026.
