ICSEW October 21, 2025 Workshop
Transforming White Women's Leadership: Reflection & Inspiration to Strengthen Racial Justice Practices
When it comes to advancing racial equity, white women who have management and/or supervisory positions have distinctive opportunities and challenges. Many white women who care about racial justice want to understand how our privilege and lack of cross-cultural skills create barriers for People of Color. Concerns about causing harm and making missteps can prevent us from creating genuine relationships with employees of color.
This 90-minute workshop will support participants to deepen awareness of the combination of institutional power, privilege, and stereotypes white women leaders both hold and perpetuate, supporting them to become more compassionate anti-racist managers and supervisors. Using case studies, personas, and real workplace examples, we’ll provide space for interactive small and large group discussion. Participants will leave better able to name and take responsibility for putting racial equity values into our leadership practices.
